Welcome to the PACE web site!!! PACE is an acronym that stands for Parents
for Academic Excellence. We are a parent support group in
Fort Bend ISD, Texas. Our main concern is the appropriate education of
all children, with a particular focus on Gifted and Talented children.
We
have tried to provide a wide range of information on this site and we hope
you find what you are looking for either here or through the links we have
included. Most importantly, if you are the parent of a child in a gifted
and talented classroom in FBISD we strongly urge you to join our
organization. While we are happy to disseminate information for your use,
we represent a minority population with special needs. Our voice is only
as strong as the number of parents we have behind us as an organization.
We
are committed to working in a positive manner with the school district for
the benefit of this small population of children. Gifted education is a
constantly changing area and it is important for the education experts to
hear the voices of those who know the children best, the parents. It is
also important for parents and children to know that they are not alone in
their quest to get the best education possible presented in a way
appropriate to the special differences innate to this population. We
represent a network of people who have been through many parts of this
journey and are happy to share what has worked for them.
